Samantha-39 mark 2 standard specifications.

1. Fibreglass mouldings and construction:

The Samantha 39 is constructed from three major mouldings, all of which are in the finest quality G.R.P. heavily laminated way in excess of Lloyd requirements. These are the hull, interior mould, and the top deck. The interior mould is one complete unit laminated to the hull at every possible place to give what is virtually a double skin boat of immense strength. The top deck is both laminated along the entire gunwale and joined through a wooden rubbing strake with stainless steel bolts. All joinery inside the boat is actually built on the boat with the finest African timbers - there are no mass produced units, thus assuring the overall - of the yacht and adding to its structural strength.

2. Ballast keel:

Approximately 3200 kgs of lead fully encapsulated in a very heavily laminated G.R.P. keel.

3. Steering, rudder and emergency tiller:

Centre cockpit wheel steering via cables and quadrant to a skeg-hung rudder. A removable emergency tiller couples to the steering shaft on top of the quadrant with the tiller arm above deck so that it can be used in conjunction with a vane type self-steering gear such as the Aries. The steering wheel is of stainless steel with a wooden rim. A Sestrel Major compass is protected by an s/s guard and hand-hold.

4. Deck fittings and equipment:

In keeping with the high quality of this yacht only the finest European hardware and fittings actually manufactured by us are used.
These include:

Heavy-duty s/s pushpit and pulpit with wooden step forward and wooden taffrail aft. Marine grade anodised alloy stanchions and bases and cleats and fairleads.

Heavy-duty mainsheet traveller and fittings and genoa track and fittings. 3 tinted opening hatches.. Mushroom and ‘duck type ventilators operating through integral dorade boxes, Very heavy duty s/s bow roller with C.Q.R. anchor and approximately 150 ft of chain.
